Inner Core systems will have some random smaller features but will have their larger attributes common to each game. Lets face it, when you make a trading game you don't put Genoa on the top of Africa or anything.
The Sol System is at the heart of the Human expansion into the surrounding space. Various Earth Governments have laid claim to the different arms of the explored/colonized systems around Sol. As you move out towards the Scatter, you will find more and more unclaimed planets (or at least, not officially claimed), which you can scan, map and then offer to bidders... or not.
